Picks a preset per person, then adjusts
Advisor, foreman, technician, parts, bookkeeper or full access. Each switch is its own: part cost, margin, discounts, valuation, reports, “all work orders” versus “only mine”. Prerequisites resolve as you tick, so a set can’t be half-granted.

Narrows, never widens
A technician scoped to assigned work sees only those work orders — and their inspections, condition reports, photos and invoices follow the same scope, enforced on the server. The inspection’s own technician keeps that inspection, and never sees prices, totals or contact details.

Takes everything out when they want to
One button downloads every record the shop has as CSV files that open in Excel and join to each other by id, with a README explaining every file and column. Every owner is emailed when a full export is downloaded, so a departing employee can’t take the customer list quietly.

Export this customer’s data gives the same files filtered to one person. Anonymise strips their identity, including photos of their vehicles, and keeps the financial record the shop must retain.

Can I stop staff seeing cost, margin or other people’s jobs?
Yes — over eighty separate permissions, set per person, with six role presets to start from. Part cost, margin, discounts, valuation, technician reporting and “all work orders” versus “only mine” are each their own switch, and the limits are enforced on the server, not just hidden in the screen.
Can I get my data out?
Yes, all of it, any time. One button downloads every record your shop has — customers, vehicles, appointments, work orders, inspections, approvals, invoices, payments, parts and purchase orders, time entries and settings — as CSV files that open in Excel, with a guide to every file and column. Photos and PDFs are listed but not included.
Where is my data stored?
The application and database are hosted in Canada, and photos and emailed PDFs are stored in Toronto. Transactional email is delivered through a provider that routes via the United States; the privacy policy lists every sub-processor.
